WoodWorkCalc

Guided projects / Intermediate

Arrange keepsakes behind a mitered face frame with a removable back and measured interior clearance. Practice full-size layout, miter accuracy, glazing clearances and reversible object mounting.

Assumptions & limits

Object rectangles represent the measured occupied space, including mounting allowances. The drawing does not reproduce insignia or supplied artwork.

Select wall anchors, hanging hardware and object mounts for the actual assembly weight and wall. No mounting load rating is calculated.

Understand your build

Method & worked example

Visible opening = outside dimension − twice the face border. Object positions are measured from that opening’s top-left corner. The designer checks object boundaries, depth and pairwise spacing. Mitered frame rails are listed by their long-point length.

Check the numbers

A 500 mm wide frame with a 35 mm face border leaves a 430 mm visible opening. A 100 mm wide object placed at x = 350 mm would extend beyond that opening.

A scaled customer-review drawing with component sizes and a repeatable build plan. The drawing, cut list, material plan and exports use the same entered measurements. Product geometry and purchase quantities are checked again when a project is saved.
