Edge Banding Length & Cost Calculator
Estimate edge-banding rolls and purchase cost for a batch of identical rectangular panels.
Set up your calculation
An illustrative example is loaded. Replace its values with your measurements, costs or documented settings.
Tooling help: Bearing-guided trimming
Calculation
Your result
- Banding required
- 22.88 m
- Whole rolls
- 1
- Purchase cost
- $30.00
The quote handoff carries your inputs and assumptions. Only an explicit base cost is suggested as a quote cost; prices, rates and measurements remain planning notes.

Understand the cutting profile, material reference and equipment limits before applying the result.
Method & assumptions
Length per panel = selected long edges × (panel length + trim at both ends) + selected short edges × (panel width + trim at both ends). Multiply by panels and waste allowance, then round up to whole rolls.
- Select 0–2 edges in each direction. Trim is added at both ends of every banded edge.
- This is a length purchase allowance, not a roll cutting optimization. Adhesive, labor, thickness matching and reusable roll remnants are separate.
Work through the edge banding example
| Input or step | Example value |
|---|---|
| Example inputs | 10 panels at 600 × 400 mm; all four edges; 10 mm trim at both ends; 10% waste; 25 m rolls at $30 |
| Banding required | 22.88 m |
| Whole rolls | 1 |
| Purchase cost | 30 USD |
These values match Load example. They illustrate the method, not recommended material, machine or pricing settings. Read the assumptions before using the result.
Common questions
Are the example settings a recommendation?
No. Replace the example with measured dimensions, actual costs and your product or machine manufacturer's limits.
What if an input is incomplete or impossible?
The result is hidden and a field or calculation error explains what needs correction.
Use this in your project
Continue with the next measurement or cost, then keep the assumptions with your quote.
