Assumptions & limits

Frameless butt-joint construction using measured panel thickness. Fastener selection, hinge drilling and slide offsets follow the hardware manufacturer’s drawing.

Sheet layout respects grain when locked. Cabinet anchoring, spans and load capacity require a project-specific check.

Understand your build

Method & worked example

Cabinet top and bottom width = outside width − twice the side thickness. Overlay back thickness is subtracted from outside depth. Drawer width = measured opening − twice the per-side slide clearance. Sheet layouts use a guillotine packing heuristic and measured kerf; they do not prove the minimum sheet count.

Check the numbers

A 600 mm wide cabinet with 18 mm sides has 564 mm wide top and bottom panels. Changing the panel thickness updates both the drawing and the material plan.

A dimensioned build plan with a material takeoff and editable batch pricing. The drawing, cut list, material plan and exports use the same entered measurements. Product geometry and purchase quantities are checked again when a project is saved.
