Content that supports sales

Create a repeatable content routine and evaluate it by suitable enquiries and accepted work.

Before you begin

Bring one finished project, permission to photograph it, your profile contact route and a simple enquiry log.

What this lesson covers

  • Turn one project into three useful content pieces.
  • Capture images safely with permission and truthful claims.
  • Compare content outcomes using enquiries, orders and costs.

Recommended preparation

01 / Key concepts

How it works

Useful woodworking content helps someone choose a material, understand a finish or picture an item in their space. Build content from work you already do. Film safely, protect customer privacy and avoid interrupting production for every post. The goal is a manageable routine that supports the shop's actual offer.

Conversion
A defined next action, such as a qualified enquiry or an accepted quote, rather than an undefined engagement count.
Acquisition cost
The stated marketing cost divided by customers acquired over the chosen period.

1. Answer three buying questions

For one shelf project, prepare a finished-room image explaining the size and purpose, a close-up comparing finish options, and a short explanation of what information you need to quote. These three pieces demonstrate fit, choice and the next step. Use captions that sound like your shop: This shelf was sized for a narrow alcove; send your opening dimensions to discuss a similar build.

2. Make a small capture routine

Take a wide finished view, a detail and a scale view in consistent light. Remove addresses, paperwork and people who have not agreed to appear. Stage demonstrations with equipment off when practical; never remove guards, distract an operator or film unsafe working for a more exciting shot. Use images and audio you own or are permitted to use.

3. Publish to a sustainable schedule

Start with a schedule you can maintain, such as two useful posts a week, then adjust from evidence. This is a planning suggestion, not an algorithm rule. Explain one idea in each post and invite one relevant action. If a post includes an endorsement tied to a gift or relationship, follow disclosure guidance and the platform's rules.

4. Measure the whole path

Meta Insights helps you compare account activity. Add your own log of qualified enquiries, quotes, accepted work and the source customers report. Include content-production time and ad spend when judging effort. Keep organic and paid activity distinguishable, and avoid crediting every order to the last post the customer saw. Test one offer or message change at a time.

Key points
  • Turn one project into three useful content pieces.
  • Capture images safely with permission and truthful claims.
  • Compare content outcomes using enquiries, orders and costs.

02 / Worked example

A smaller post produces better-fit work

Illustrative comparison only, not a forecast: two posts are tracked over the same follow-up window using the same definition of a qualified enquiry.

What the result meansViews alone do not tell you whether a post supports the business. One accepted order is a useful observation, not proof that the format always wins.

03 / Business exercise

Apply the method

Use your own shop information or the illustrative scenario. Prepare drafts and check assumptions before making purchases, publishing posts or contacting customers.

  1. Choose one project and write three posts answering different buying questions.
  2. Plan the exact safe, permitted photographs needed for each.
  3. Schedule a manageable two-week test with one clear contact route.
  4. Record enquiries, quote outcomes, time spent and accepted-job contribution before changing the plan.

Common mistakes

  • Treating follower growth as profit.
  • Copying unsafe workshop footage for attention.
  • Changing the audience, offer and format simultaneously and claiming a clear result.

Take it further

Calculate a break-even acquisition allowance from one product's contribution after fulfillment costs, then compare it with a deliberately small, capped marketing test.

Business action checklist

Record your evidence and next decision as you work through each action.

  • Choose one project and write three posts answering different buying questions.

04 / Review questions

Review the key decisions

Consider each question, then compare your answer with the explanation. Return to the worked example whenever you need it.

1. Does the 800-view post prove a universal strategy?

View hint

Consider sample size and other influences.

View explanation

No. It is one observation. Repeat with comparable tracking and examine profitability before drawing a broader conclusion.

2. What is missing if acquisition cost counts ads but excludes paid content production?

View hint

Define the cost scope.

View explanation

The result is an ad-spend-only measure. Include relevant production cost for a fuller acquisition-cost view, or label the narrower measure clearly.

05 / Project notes
