Confirm the material is suitable
Know the material and its finish before processing it. Use manufacturer and local safety guidance for your equipment and material; do not treat an unknown sheet, coating, or adhesive as a test candidate.
Set focus and confirm the physical origin
The design position on screen must match the material position on the bed. Set focus using your machine's intended method, then use framing or equivalent positioning checks before the final run.
Use simple layers and controlled tests
Keep operations separate enough to understand: engraving, scoring, cutting, or marking. Start with a small test on matching material, then supervise the full job from start to finish.
